Inspired by Ozy Licano
Vignettes on our Sun.
Even the sun wont help me to shine today
When I look at him
He hides away
What can I do
Helios afflicted at birth
If My Sun won't favor me
I hug Mother Earth.
The sun's energy encouraging to excel
But too close to the sun
burn I like tallow in hell.
Icarus I care for you
I seek your fate
To be punished for rising
I Fall to my death
And lastly:
I bow to you Sun
You're benevolence aloof
Yet sin rises uncurbed
Under your eminent roof
Sons of Stardust
Men we are
And when our Sun doth die
We return to stars.
I know only this there may be other greater suns
But for me
None greater than the one
Around which
The sum of our lives
And
This world has spun.
Sunlight is joyous silken thread
Hope in motion killing dread
Uncoiling golden living love
From the graves of our
grateful dead.
Moonlights silvery cord
Dreams weaving
Soul's lifeline
Is conferred by mighty Ra
Even in decline
Sol Helios Apollo Surya
Sun
The natal lord
Of the course and chart of our life
Son of Jupiter
The Lord of Gods
Fathering fate
And so many sons
From worthy wives.
A dashing rogue
He waits for neither
Prologue or
Epilogue
But the certainty of the moment
Live under the sun
He cares naught a whit for
Our strife
But struggle against Fate
And he will be your might
So long as day is bright
Wishes beckoning
No more
Then bid adieu
Embracing
Eternal night.
