Tender Lies
My mind is a seething
Mass
of tender lies
A burial ground of dreams
On my lips a vacant smile
Lipstick on my screams.
The human heart longs for company
The solace of understanding minds
But all they do
Is peel the orange for succulent sweetness
And discard the essence in the rind....
So to fit in my being
With your way of seeing
I turn my "me" to you
Beating the dreams back in till My soul is black and blue.
If by chance you do see through
And if crumbled stars in eyes give away my game
I cannot fake it and dare you to
Take it
My truth and my lies and my screams and my sighs
And only acceptance
This anguish will tame
A creek of agony divides my heart
Of which only half I lend you
From the start
If you look at me and really look
You would know that
You read just half the book.
The ending I leave in the middle to find
The pain is painted out with dull blinds
The windows to my soul concealed
The hidden heart waiting to be healed
And guess what sleeping beauty is?
It is our two souls in charming kiss
That sucks out all pain
And resuscitates
Two beings of joyous light and courage resurrects.
